Doug Mackie is an Edinburgh based award winning and commissioned artist.

Doug is an Edinburgh born and based sculptor. He trained at Edinburgh College of Art where he received a BA (Hons): Sculpture. Studied carving in Carrara, Italy. His current work includes installations in concrete, lead and glass.

Doug’s work simultaneously explores a socio-political narrative and the limits and potential inherent in materials he uses. Whether stone, cast paper, concrete or bronze the incorporation of ground natural pigments, organic or man-made materials are used to create both installations and unique works to engage the viewer in an experience within which that narrative can be explored.
